Baby Room
This self contained area provides dedicated care for babies from 3 months old. Here, they can follow the same comforting routine they would at home, in an environment filled with responsive interactions and language. The learning activities and experiences we offer provide babies with a safe world, with rich opportunities to actively explore and enjoy, to see, hear, feel, touch and move. d an. For quieter times, we provide a peaceful sleeping room. We have a spacious environment with access to all activities including: sensory play, sand and water, art activities, music and movement, plus a cosy area for stories and singing. The babies have access to our soft play area for physical development and and also to our beautiful garden areas.
Toddlers Room 1 and 2
These areas take children from approximately 15 months and are designed to support their rapidly developing skills and physical abilities. We have a cosy area for stories and singing, imaginative play, art and craft, sand and water play available daily and free flow access to a large garden area to extend the children’s learning in the outside environment. Each child needs to develop a sense of autonomy, the sense of being separate, independent self that comes from being treated as an important individual and being allowed opportunities for freedom
Lower School
Lower school‘s learning programme for rising three’s reflects the transitional nature of the child’s third year of life. The programme is designed for each child to make the transition from the sensory-motor world of toddlers to an increasingly social world and the onset of symbolic thinking. Their learning environment is well-planned to allow child-initiated play, small groups and supportive learning that lay down firm foundations for developing positive attitudes and dispositions for learning throughout life. The development of language, mathematical reasoning and scientific thought is emphasised throughout.
Upper School
TThis area is for three years up to the age of five. Our programme for learning builds on the children’s knowledge and skill base, learning style and interests. A rich variety of projects investigates the workings of widening world and enhances the development of emerging knowledge and skills. A balance of child initiated and adult planned learning across 6 key areas of learning is provided throughout the day.
At this stage we offer guided experiences that encompass all the skills and understandings necessary for optimum development and success in school, introducing a wide range of subjects such as Letters and Sounds, Jolly Phonics, Growing Readers, science, IT, Ballet, the World Around Us and Spanish. We focus on each child’s individual needs in order to develop their confidence and independence in preparation for school. Many of our nursery children have successfully passed assessments for places within the private schools in the area.
